Miele Wand Clog Update 2021

I had written years ago about my problem with the Miele SET220. Well, Miele got in touch and replaced the wand for free. Top notch customer support.
My vacuum wand was missing a critical piece that covered up the cable. Having this cable exposed is what turned the wand into a rats nest whenever I used it.

Was your vacuum still under manufacturer warranty? I have an older Miele vacuum I bought used that is having this problem with the electric telescopic wand. I’m wondering if it’s worth contacting Miele or if you only got the excellent response because of a newer model and/or warranty.

I was not under warranty – I just emailed them the photos, showed how it wasn’t working. I think I was writing as a complaint – I don’t think I was asking for replacement. I believe there is supposed to be a white half tube that wraps around the cord and keeps it from catching on stuff. When I look at my new one, the cord is completely separate from the tube.

I wasn’t under warranty. I just called them to complain.
2023 and Miele denies this is true. They said they’ve never had an issue and haven’t redesigned the telescoping tube. I’ve emailed them several times asking for guidance on how to avoid the clogs or a possible fix since purchasing my unit in 2019, and the emails go unanswered. I’d encourage anyone with this issue to reach out via social media to see if that works because they have been so unhelpful.
