Why is it so hard to copy an email address in Microsoft Office?

I don’t want to copy the hyper link, or select it, or open it. I want to copy the fucking email address. Just select it you say?

Odds of accidentally click it: 10:1
Odds of selecting the characters on either side:15:1

Current method, copy a block, paste it into an browser to remove the hyperlink, then select just the part I want. This is stupid.
